Robert “Bob” Johnson
On Friday, April 10,2026 in Bozeman, Montana, under a beautiful blue sky, Robert “Bob” Johnson passed peacefully into eternal slumber. Born February 23, 1946, to Albert Sidney Johnson and Virginia Amanda (Ferguson) Johnson in Long Beach, California. The family would also welcome two more sons; Albert and Alvin.
Bob attended schools in North Long Beach and graduated from Jordan High School. He joined the Navy and spent two years in Guam, where he was a Yeoman and handled security clearances.
In 1965, he married Kay Wiggins and had three sons: Robert Jr., Jason, and Jon. They later divorced. Staying in the Dillon area, Bob worked at Marv’s Tire and most recently at the Forest Service on the Road Crew until he retired.
He met Joanne M. Atwood, and they were married in 1991 in Elko, Nevada. They enjoyed travelling and had many adventures in their 35 years of marriage. Winters were spent in Parker, Arizona, meeting new friends all the time.
Bob spent 20 years working on the Poindexter Cemetery. His hard work paid off: and he was able to get 3 of his family members (bodies with restored headstones) moved to Mountain View Cemetery.
Bob is survived by his wife, Joanne, Robert (Kendra), Jason (Shelley) and family, Jon (Samantha) and family, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Virginia, and his 3 brothers, Roger, Albert, and Alvin.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
